Ive bought x3 discs to work with my sky internet - which works well inside the house but the wifi does not reach the garden at all. I have one disc (with good reception) very near to the bi fold windows but it still does not seem to help.
Can BT disc work outside?
Can I get another specialist wifi extender for outside that would link to my sky internet along with the BT discs?
Thanks

Hi @Lucien66uk welcome to the community and thanks for posting, are you connecting to the 2.4Ghz SSID when you're out in the garden? The 5Ghz SSID doesn't have a great range so it may not be reaching you outside. The wifi discs are not intended to be used outside as they're not weatherproof but there are various extenders and repeaters that you can put outside.
Thanks
Neil
Hi Neil,
Thanks for your reply.
I believe its a 2,4Ghz.
So as well as the discs can i also use an extender or repeater at the same time?
Thanks
Yes you can use wi-fi extenders and discs at the same time but IP66 (Ingress Protection 66) waterproof extenders are not cheap
Amazing thanks for advice.
Yes i know .i eventually want wifi at end of garden so i may invest.
If there are any outbuildings near where want wifi then I would consider extending it into there
Might it be possible to put a BT disc and an appropriately selected d.c. power supply fed through an IP66 gland into an IP66 plastic enclosure with IP45 ventilation louvres?
