As posted in messages 3 and 8, DLM appears to have banded your line due to previous instability. It can take a very long time for DLM to relent. I have been banded at 49M since well before Christmas.
I meant no to the third party works having an effect.
Hi @ksp100,
Thank you for posting. I agree with @licquorice and it does look like the DLM had banded your line. If you send me your details, I'll be able to take a look at your connection and run a few checks on your line.
I have sent you a private message with instructions on how to contact the team. You can access your messages via the envelope icon at the top right of the screen, or click on this link, Private messages
Thanks,
Paddy
Hi,
I thought I would provide an update on what happened and hopefully provide some hope to those who find themselves in similar circumstances and sometimes feel they are fighting a losing battle! I firstly want to take this opportunity to thank the band of independent supporters (licquorice et al.) for their help and also to Dave/Neil in the tech support team at BT who have been superb!
So two DLM resets later (we are not sure the first one actually was actioned by Openreach!) and the downstream line progressively resynced over a week upto the current 71.4Mb/s which given it capped at 54.9 before is a significant boost. This means I now get a speedtest confirmed 66-67Mb/s download rate (even higher than the 62Mb/s before I was being capped). It has now remained synced for over 7 days although I have started to see the ES rate increase in the last few days, mostly in the evening peak (<80 per day) probably when there is more crosstalk and nothing that has caused the DLM to intervene. I now have a script which downloads the stats from the router whenever my computer is running and you will see below the errors increase in the evening peak. The Upstream graph just has a constantly increasing figure all day so clearly different factors are affecting that! I just want to repeat that none of this is currently a problem but is interesting to track!
I would also note that the downstream SNR margin has dropped during the training period to 3dB although I believe this is a feature of Huawei DSLAM when connected to compatible modems (currently using a Draytek).
So once again thanks to everyone for the help. If anyone needs any help with interrogating their connection when using a Draytek modem let me know!
Regards,
Kevin
