Hi,
I'm on the BT Full Fibre 900 plan which I believe guarantees a 450Mbps download speed.
Unfortunately, I've noticed not hitting that connsistently. I've actually went as far as measuring the speed periodically since june (see graph below, the red line is 450Mbps):
note: measurements done by a server directly connected to the BT router with an ethernet cable, taken every 5 minutes using the speedtest cli (https://www.speedtest.net/apps/cli).
Is there anythig tnat can be done to help? BT's own test tools just say that everything's fine.
How are you connecting, wired or wireless?
What speed do you get if you bypass the hub and make a direct PPPoE connection from your PC to the ONT?
I can't say I've done this before, are there some instructions I could follow sorry?
In Windows10, go to Settings > Network and Internet > Dial Up > Set up a new connection > Set up a broadband or dial up connection to the internet > Next > Set up a new connection anyway > Broadband (PPPoE) > enter username bthomehub@btbroadband.com and password BT, press connect.
Unplug the WAN Ethernet lead from the hub and plug it into your PC.
So I removed the ethernet cabel used for the WAN connection from the back of the hub, and used that same connection for PPoE.
doing a quick test on speedtest.net got me a much better speed (see attached screenshot).
replacing the cable into the hub and trying again but this time from a machine connected to the hub got me much less:

Testing upload speed......................................................................................................

So it seems like the hub isn't able to provide the same speed to a machine connected directly to it by ethernet?
Have you tried a factory reset of the hub? Remember to turn off Smart setup again afterwards.
