My street has recently been trunked (if that's the word!) for FTTP by Openreach. They have said it will be wired by July. I'm currently with Talktalk so when FTTP is available will it be for TT and BT or just BT? TT is enabled at my exchange.
FTTP will be available to all ISP's. It is up to the ISP's if they decide to sell it or not.
Thanks. How does that work at the cabinet? I'm assuming the new fibre replaces my existing copper, is that just done when the new service is offered? Just wondering if BT offer it first and I switch do I retain my slot or have to wait until one is free?
FTTP does not come from the street cabinet. It is a different system.
BT do not get it first it is available to all ISP's at the same time.
Ah! Didn't know that! Thanks.
