My property is 5 years old and has a BT 66 junction box with an underground cable.

Openreach have written to say they have installed full fibre cables in the underground ducts using rod and rope method.

My question is if I decide to have FTTP installed - can the cable coming into the property use the hole in the wall utilised by the current copper cable from the BT 66 junction box?

Depends how big the hole in the wall is. I think the engineer will fit a new box - the CSP - customer splice point in lieu of the existing BT 66 box.

They didn't when they installed mine, but then again, they left the copper line in service for some reason.

If you exchange has not yet beeh upgraded to digital voice only then the copper line would remain until such time.

If said Cable from the 66 to the NTE was installed during build process then I’d say no, they can’t because the chances are that cable isn’t in any kind of conduit.

You would need a new hole drilling from the inside out and an EZ Bend Cable running from there to where the 66 is.

The 66 should be replaced with a CSP, which is designed to house both the Fibre and Copper Joints.
