Perhaps your telephone is with Virgin? Further, perhaps you have Virgin cable and, if so, I doubt BT can utilise this. Mind you, I am not an expert regarding cable and FTTP.
BT and virgin connection are not interchangeable
if you have virgin you need a new installion for BT
VM do not have a Fibre 2 tier so doubt the OP has VM.
Tried as stated, waited 30 mins, tried again... another 30 mins. can't get through to anyone
I am already on BT Fibre 2 (fibre direct to house) I do not have any VM services.
I don't use the BT landline though - who does these days????

Yes, I am aware of that. I was confused by the OP @TessTickles referring to Virgin and his inability to complete the checker.
