This morning I had an openreach engineer out to install full fibre (up to 900mbps) internet. This hasn't been possible as I live in a flat, as I would need an electrician to install a power outlet in a cupboard and then have fibre cables run through the flat to a socket, again not possible.
I have standard broadband (not fibre) at the moment as we've just had fibre cables installed in the building recently. I have gone back to sky and upgraded to fibre, which is up to 74mbps. The chap on the call stated they would still need to run fibre cables through the apartment.
Does anyone have any experience on this ? My understanding is for standard fibre (up to 74mbps) the copper cables in the walls are still used rather than fibre cables run through the building.
Thanks

Why are you posting on a BT forum when you are a Sky Customer?
If your service is FTTC (VDSL) then it will be copper to the flat. Ask Sky what they are providing.
