Force public IP address change

Hi,

We are having some issues with reoccurring dropouts and we suspect an attempted denial-of-service (DDoS) attack. Our set up is Dreytek Vigor 130 and Ubiquity  EdgeRouter x. The connection is dropping out every 20mins for a short period and has started at the same time the last couple of days. We are monitoring the connection to see if it's a true DDoS attack but would like to force a public IP address change.

The question is – How do we force a public IP change?

Cheers,

IDWBP (I don't want to be pinged)

Re: Force public IP address change

Turn off the router for a bit (like 30mins or above), even though the assigning of the IP address is dynamic it needs to be released

Are you a BT Business account user?

Why do you suspect a DDoS attack rather than a possible electrical interference or other problem?

Re: Force public IP address change

Because we use the connection 24/7 and have never experienced this type of activity before. Also nothing has changed in our set up or with any other device in the install location.

Re: Force public IP address change

Virtually everyone leaves their connection on 24/7. Do the router logs show a DDOS attack?

Nothing needs to have changed for a fault to have developed, they occur at random!
