The new number is active with a dial tone.
I really don't want to spend half the day on the phone, I have got further here in 10 minutes than I did with 3 hours to CS.
How do I find out 100% if the original number was issued by BT Retail?
What are the first seven digits of the number you want to get back?
Please do not post the whole number, just the first seven, and I will look it up for you, on the Ofcom database.

the area code is 01258
and the first 2 additional digits are 45
From the database, confirmed as BT. I will ask a moderator to see if they can help. Its never 100% guaranteed, but it normally happens.
1258 45 | Allocated | BT | 4+6 | 15/07/1994 |
I have moved this thread to the landline board, as you are an active BT Retail phone customer.
Hopefully a moderator can offer help. They will post on this thread.
Hi @mikensam and welcome back.
I'll be happy to take a look at this for you. I'll drop you a private message now so you can get in touch.
Thanks @Keith_Beddoe for raising this.
Cheers
David
This has now been resolved and I have my old number back as of today!
I wanted to say a big thanks to @Keith_Beddoe & @DavidM I just wish I had come on the forums sooner 🙂
