Haven’t yet checked the actual BT TV Youview box other than via the BT TV app.
using the BT TV app yesterday evening and this morning plus also looking at the web BT TV guide it appears that the channel changes have not been effected on the app . For example the app this morning (Thursday) still shows Sky 1 logos where I would expect Sky Showcase and Sky Max channel not listed. thus programming on Sky Max alone cannot be set to record via the app currently.
Still issues with inconsistencies between channels in BT TV app guide and BT TV box EPG channel listings.
Would be reassuring to know that it is being looked at and addressed but haven’t seen any indications so far that it is.
Hi @zulu17,
Thank you for highlighting the inconsistencies between the BT TV app and the Box EPG. The BT TV Team are aware and this is going to be updated. I don't have a timescale for this but I'll let you know as soon as I do.
Thanks,
Paddy
One observation about Sky Showcase ( I’m looking at HD channel 340 but believe it is the same for SD) in the BT TV Youview box EPG is that the listings do not link to the on demand content. you would need to use Search and find the on demand episode yourself or find the programme on the non showcase channel and link to the ondemand player from there.
Whilst this is consistent with Sky saying Sky Showcase is a live channel only it does mean that the EPG for this channel does not identify whether a programme is available on demand and does not provide a quick straightforward access to the content.
@zulu17 don't kid yourself for 1 second into thinking that Sky/Comcast actually give a hoot about BT TV viewers or even NowTV viewers. They're plan is to launch SkyQ via internet and then they'll drop both services as soon as they're contractually allowed to. Comcast are hemorrhaging subscribers in America and are doing everything possible to stop the threat of streaming services in Europe from the traditional American content owners.
A further issue with Sky Showcase is what type of channel it is classified as in the BT TV Box EPG and BT TV app Guide . If you use the guide filters then it is classified as a FILM channel for whereas I suggest that Entertainment is the appropriate classification.
that said at present the Entertainment filter needs a through review as several channels are not currently classified. a right mess currently.
Well several weeks on and the Entertainment filter errors and omissions have not been addressed.
