Strange addition to the telegraph pole

hi, can anyone shed any light as to what this is on the side of the telegraph pole, looks like they are doing a few in the street

It's a joint enclosure to house the join between the two cables.

It could be a SASA or just a Fibre Track Joint. Without seeing inside it it’s difficult to say.

The black boxes at the bottom of the picture is used for FTTP.

Thanks for the replies, openreach turned up 30 minutes later, and did indeed confirm they were starting to fit fibre to our street (yay!)
