My Verve 450 has the message that there is no link to the base and to check the base which I have done.

Thank you for posting and welcome to the Community. I've had a look to see if I could find any information that would help. Here is the User Guide for the Verve 450.
I would try de-registering the handset and then registering the handset to see if that works.
