Go to Tools then Account settings, click on Add mail account in the drop down box Account Actions.

Thanks for the update - is it preventing BT Cloud access as well ?
I'm trying to download a couple of hundred gigs of backup with no access.

@licquorice  I may have phrased my post badly but I can't use the method you show to add a new email address I can only access existing ones.

@Bob1001 My posts were just to describe how to create an account in Thunderbird for @@polish   If the current problem causes the inability to create a new account, there is nothing I can help with I'm afraid.

They can't even get the fault message right, its IMAP not iMap which implies an Apple product.
