Got a BT 4600 and am struggling to enter am international phone number.

How is this done? I thought it s just 0044 for a UK number as I corks not see how to enter +44.

Help appreciated.

Re: BT 4600

Morning @Dave_77 thanks for posting. 00 before the international dialing code should work from a landline. What country are you trying to call?

I believe that on the BT4600 phone holding the zero button should give you the + key

Thanks

Neil

P.44 of the manual.

Re: BT 4600

Holding down 0 button gives 'P'. '+' is only available in text field - i.e. Contact Name.

Doesn't recognise 0044.  P44 isn't recognised either.

Edit: I mean P353 and 00353.

What if going on here?

Re: BT 4600

Okay. I can now get 00353 to work. So UK to Ireland (tested using Dublin zoo!) works.

When in UK though, it still won't allow 0044.  So I can't set up a number in her contacts as 0044...

Is there a resolution here?

Re: BT 4600

Hi @Dave_77 why do you want to add the international 0044 dialing code to a UK number when you're already in the UK? It's only needed when calling the UK from abroad.

Thanks

Neil

Re: BT 4600

A relative wanted it setup that way as someone else has it in their phone as +44...

They are trying to contact a UK mobile that is currently in Ireland.

Can I withhold caller ID on these devices?

Re: BT 4600

Hey @Dave_77,

It won't matter where the UK mobile phone is, you would enter the number as normal. 07 rather than +447 or 00447.

Treat the UK number as if it was in the UK. So, if you want to put 141 you would do 14107.

Thanks

Re: BT 4600

I was told that when she phoned using 078... that she get through to an answerphone and next morning got a message from a number ending in 111 that said something along the lines of them having no phone in Ireland.

If the phone is in Ireland, do you not need the intl dialling code to access it, or how does it get accessed?  I was able to call the number from another mobile using +4478...

Her landmine has intl calls enabled.

So to confirm, she should be able to get in contact with the uk mobile phone located in Ireland just using 078...?

Re: BT 4600

Hey @Dave_77,

Yes, she should be able to call that UK mobile number using the 078 even though they're in the Republic of Ireland (RoI).

I'm in Northern Ireland here and often call friends and family who go across the border. When I'm in the south (RoI), I've received calls from my family on their landlines and mobiles too.

Thank you
DanielS
