Basic question from a , very, non techy person.
I currently have a BT set up..broadband and a box.
I want to replace the box with a new Pro Box as my wife wants to be able to record up to 4 programs.
Can I ask BT to downgrade to Broadband only...no TV or Sport options etc. ?
Thanks.
If you want a BT TV Pro box you will need to take one of the packages.
To downgrade, call the value team on 0330 1234 150
And I think in IP mode it is only two recordings available.
Thanks for response.....does it have to BT or can I use any broadband provider ? ie Full fibre is now on our street and I have Vodafone breathing down my neck...but BT is not available yet .
If you want BT TV it has to be with BT.
I think I understand but with mainstream TV apps on board and Freeview, what would I be missing out on by not having BT TV ? Thanks

The BT Pro Box for a start.
Since 2019, TV boxes are loaned, not bought. If you want a BT TV Pro Box you need a BT TV subscription.
You can buy the cheapest one (£10?), but without an ongoing subscription you have to return the box.
You need to buy a box from somewhere like eBay if you want to use it as a Freeview PVR without a subscription, although this is a grey area as boxes shouldn’t be resold.
If you really need just a Freeview PVR with the catch up apps, keep an eye out for the Manhattan T4-R expected in July.
