Re: Bt extender flex 500
What are the Ethernet lights on the two units doing? If one of them is not lit, there is no connection to that device.

Re: Bt extender flex 500
On the BT extender Flex 500 units, there used to be three lights. The power light should be on when the unit has power. The Ethernet light should be solid green if a cable is properly connected but no data, and it should flash when data is on the cable. The Data light uses different colours to indicate the quality/speed of data over the property's electricity mains. Provided the power is on, the "data" light should always indicate something.
If that "data" light is not even red, and the power led is not lit, yet other devices work, I strongly suggest that you may need an electrician - can you post a photo please!

Re: Bt extender flex 500
Hi @Jerry1957
You can find the user guide with details of the lights at Broadband Extender Flex 500 Kit
It may be worth visiting the Sonos Community pages which has resource about using range extenders too.

Re: Bt extender flex 500
is your sonos network using the ring mains for connection? if so I would expect that is problem trying to run different networks on your electrical mains

Re: Bt extender flex 500
Try plugging them into a double socket and see if the data lights come on.
If they don't then try linking them as per instructions.
If they do come on then it's likely to be a mains circuitry issue. For example the 2 sockets that you're trying to connect are on different halves of a split load consumer unit as in this instance there is no connection between the 2 halves.
