Smart baby monitor 5000

We’ve been using the smart baby monitor 5000 for a few months. We have a few issues but the main one is:

The volume is very loud. At night we have to have it on the minimum level, just one above mute. And it never seems to quiet even when the video is off. Our previous monitor would be quiet until the baby made a noise and then it would let more noise through. We have white noise playing but it’s not that loud and it drives me crazy that I can hear it all night long.

Any ideas?
