What is a warm reset?

Go to solution

My BT Smarthub  underwent a warm reset. What is that?

How does it come about?

A "warm reset" is simply powering the hub down then restarting it or put another way... switch it off and on.

Edit: This can be instigated by the owner or remotely by BT for instance when a software update is installed.

I have not instigated a reset and there is no evidence of a software update. Where would I look to see if this was the case?

Re: What is a warm reset?

I cannot see anything relating to CWMP. But then I cannot say I understand what the event log is telling me.

I think I have a Smarthub-1 and it is running firmware version SG4B1000E077 tha was updated when I installed this hub on 9th March 2022.

Is this correct?

How do I get help with interpreting the event log?
