Nothing to do with me
It was the rationale given by the BT CEO Alison Kirkby
She said the migration was confusing the BT elderly customers
When are BT going to order better equipment that is wifi 6 or 7 enabled rather than an archaic wifi 5 set up
I think other contributors have pointed it out, they probably won’t do so for quite some time yet. Your only option is to do what I and others have suggested, buy your own if your present router isn’t doing it for you.
what Alison Kirkby actually said was
Allison Kirkby, has now “shelved” the original re-branding strategy “amid concerns that dropping the historic brand risked alienating older customers”
nothing to do with confusing elderly customers
EE have better equipment but I was expecting their reviews to be better considering they are part of BT. Have looked at loads of providers and they all have their challenges.
How many times do I have to say it?
The only reason ISPs have pushed Wi-Fi is because it’s cheap and no labour for them, not because it’s any good.
Wi-Fi is naff, it’s always been naff, it always will be naff. Common sense should tell you, anything that takes this many attempts to get right is fundamentally flawed. Put cables in, you won’t regret it.
So, just putting it out there, why exactly is it then that the almost 30 devices consistently connected via WiFi, there’s never a problem with connection? Maybe it’s my environmental conditions or a superior router 🤷♂️
