Hi, Had an emall today from BT Broadband and I quote ...
"BT Broadband is becoming EE. And there's no better time to switch to EE, which is not only the home of our best mobile products but also now our best broadband products too."
I have recently renewed a 2 year contract with BT for 500 full fibre broadband . The email link takes me to an EE product which is closes to my current BT contract and intimates I need to take it out.
Does this email mean I now need to move to EE or am I been "coaxed" into moving ?
It does not make it clear and also if I will still get my Email and if I will not get charged an early termination fee from BT if I move.
Can someone please clarify what is happening and what, if anything, I need to do? I am reluctant to phone BT as I suspect I will get a "biased " sales person .
Many Thanks

BT broadband isn’t closing and although encouraged to switch to EE by BT , there is no compulsion to switch , if the switch ( should you decide to do it ) provided the appropriate path is taken ( via BT rather than at your than you calling EE yourself ) , no ETC is due , the question around email has had contradictory answers on this forum , AFAIR, the question was asked of the BT Mod , if it were answered conclusively I haven’t seen it , I’d be surprised if @ btinternet .com was no longer available, but can’t say for sure .
You retain (all of) your @btinternet.com addresses when migrating from BT to EE. It has also been said that there is no intention to close the @btinternet.com service, therefore the implication is that you could also have a new @btinternet.com address if you so wished.
Will BT cloud and its little file icons automatically disappear from my Windows Explorer file array on screen, or do I have to delete it?
(I've saved all my stuff - everything I've ever created since home computing began- to a memory stick so I'm angered by BT's withdrawal of a much loved feature after my 60 year relationship with them dating from the pre-digital era, but at least it's not catastrophic. At lease, not unless I lose the stick!)

Hi @AlexMac.
Thanks for coming to the community.
The icons may well stay on your computer, but will not longer be active once the BT Cloud service closes next week.
You can uninstall the app from your device if you already have everything downloaded, which will remove the files and icons.
