BT Router

Hi, quick question.

What does the broadband port do/mean on my router?

Do I need to have anything plugged into it?

Thank you,

Tom 🙂

Have a look at this link and follow the guide for the type of BT hub that you have.

Re: BT Router

Hi, yes I’ve seen this.

I’m more interested if I need to use the broadband slot and what it is?

@Tommy69

It depends.

If you have Full Fibre then the answer is NO otherwise it's where your internet input (from the phone line) plugs into.

Re: BT Router

@Tommy69 If you actually read the guides linked you would understand how the ports are used.

Re: BT Router

The SH2 ( if that’s the router in question) will work with FTTC/ADSL as well as FTTP , so as stated , if you have BT FTTP , its an unused socket , if you have FTTC or ADSL then it’s connected to the copper pair phone line
