I've just received my BT smart hub but there's is no wan port only 4 lan ports ???

Advanced settings > Broadband > Internet set full fibre FTTP mode to on. Changes LAN port 4 to WAN

You only use the WAN port if you've got FTTP otherwise it's the Broadband port at the other end of the unit.

In which case the SH2 supplied should have had port 4 clearly marked as WAN.

If it's an older SH2 then it might need a firmware update to be able to activate port 4 , but without a connection you won't be able to do that I guess.

I know that originally the WAN port couldn't be changed back to a standard ethernet port , not sure if it was always a case of port 4 being the WAN port though.
