It might seem a silly question I live in a bungalow, openreach are going to install a carrier pole in between the telephone pole and my bungalow. When they install the carrier pole and then to my bungalow how do they get the line to my property as my bungalow with creating the slack in the line and keeping the height of the line. Is it something they attach to the roof

A difficult one to answer. there will be no fitting on the roof but depending on the orientation it may be somewhere on the eves of the bungalow. Also modern drop cables contain a steel wire to reduce cable sag. I wouldn't worry about it.
