If the property in question is currently served by overhead means ( telegraph pole ) or underground from existing buried ducts , then no excavation should be necessary, if the property is underground served , has access to FTTP and is of an age when the copper cables were buried direct in the ground ( typically houses built in the 60’s-80’s ) then excavation will be required…if FTTP is available in this scenario, there would have been recent ‘works’ in the street and an access hatch (toby box) installed at the boundary of the footpath and property curtilage, and from this point excavation to the house wall will be required if FTTP is ordered.
