Dropping all the time

We have had full fibre for 18 months, no problems but now it drops all the time. We have had hub replaced and engineer out. They just say fibre doesn’t go wrong. Before we got fibre we had 4 months of problems with no solution. The only thing I can think of is we were first to get it so every time it’s added to and they are up the wire it’s effected ours?

Re: Dropping all the time

As asked what does the LOS Light do when the connection drops?

If it goes Red it’s likely a sudden High Light Loss or Complete Loss of Light occurring anywhere between the Head End and your House.

Openreach use a GPON using a 32 Way Split SASA, so basically 1 Fibre Provides Service for up to 32 Circuits. Your immediate neighbours are most likely fed from the same Splitter/SASA, do you know if they’re experiencing the same issue? If not it’s most likely a fault on the individual fibre from the SASA to your property alone.

Whoever said Fibre doesn’t go wrong clearly knows less about Fibre than you. Fibre can go wrong, just as much as a Metallic Path Network can.

Re: Dropping all the time

so is the internet drop on wifi devices but ethernet remains connected?  if so try changing the wifi channels in the hub manager.  use a wifi analyser on your phone to see what channels are in use then change your hub from smart to a free channel or less congested and different to virgin neighbour
