Had a visit from an Openreach engineer today. Said the FTTP ID is wrong and he cannot fix it so the Openreach 'Tiger Team' is probably going to be brought in.
According to BT there is something wrong with the installation of the FTTP junction box at my block of flats, I will have to wait until June 7th or later for it to be fixed.
This sounds horribly familiar. We are the first occupants of an apartment in a new block of 10 flats which was fully wired by the developers. Same symptoms but I’ve been supplied with an EE mini hub FOC as a stop gap, unsatisfactory but at least we have email & internet until the fibre issue is resolved. Last message was ‘wait until early next week & contact us again if PON still flashing’.
Now I have to wait for 54 metres of underground ducting work to be completed outside my flat because Openreach think that is the problem. Just will be relieved when it is over.
To their credit BT seem to be trying their best to get everything solved.
Had another visit from an Openreach Engineer today and according to his call it should be ported to SASA 1 but is ported to an unknown SASA.
I have to wait another 48 hours for it (hopefully) to be finally fixed.
Not fixed yet, I will now have to wait until 20th July when BT will call me with an update.
Ours was eventually fixed but we had to cancel & reorder, on BT advice, because things were such a mess. Our problem also turned out to be SASA related, plus incorrect postcode. Anyway, all now working properly.
After making a second complaint I have been informed that I can't get full fibre broadband at my address at the moment and was told by BT that I should never have been offered it as Openreach didn't have the proper infrastructure in place.
BT have given me a huge chunk of credit on my account for all the wasted time.
