Hi BT Community,
We recently have gotten the news that FTTP has become available in our street, which is something we are very interested in. We live in a house made up of 5 flats and we were wondering if for the installation each individual flat needs to have a separate cable/modem installed or if we can have a central installation and share this between the flats ( have multiple connections from a central modem)?
Obviously we would like to be economical here as well as minimize disruption and avoiding 5 different installations/cables. We currently have only copper phone wires running through the shared entrance.
Each house will have a separate cable, ONT (optical modem) and router.

That depends how the property is made up, each property can have 1 ONT but if the address is properly setup as an MDU (multi dwelling unit) then each flat can have an ONT, if it's a house being let out to 5 people like shared accommodation then it would be 1 connection only.
