FTTP install - blocked ug duct

So Quinns engineer arrived this morning to complete my installation, knocked on my door 10 minutes later to announce the fibre duct was blocked near the underground node.  A little odd as I live in a terraced house and both properties on either side have FTTP.

Called Customer service and all I have been told is to call back on Monday as they cannot get hold of Quinns.....

Re: FTTP install - blocked ug duct

Even if CS could get hold of Quinns it wouldn't make any difference. Quinns will inform Openreach of a failed install due to blocked duct. Openreach will take it from there. Normally sorted pretty quick if no road works involved.

Re: FTTP install - blocked ug duct

Openreach had exactly the same problem when installing the fibre to my neighbours house, this was the first stage of their solution.

Re: FTTP install - blocked ug duct

So Openreach civils arrived later the same day, unblocked the UG duct, and pulled the fibre through.

The Quinns engineer returned shortly after and completed the installation, so I have FTTP now but also my wall is missing a large amount of render on the outside of my property as the Quinns chap decided to drill from the inside out, he filled the hole with a load of sealant outside but it looks like a **bleep** job.

Very happy with the FTTP speeds but a bit miffed about the hole in the render.
