Hi,
I have had full fibre for nearly a year and although we receive the 522mb at the hub when I stand next to the hub the wifi speed is anything from kb to 150mbs.
I understand items such as TVs and microwave ovens can interfere with the speed but the drop in speed in the same room as the router is not acceptable.
Open Reach have visited several times, different teams and haven't resolved the issue. I have escalated this at BT but again, no resolution.
I am left wondering if I live in a lead lined house as the wifi is that poor. When I had fibre to cabinet and copper to house the drop was only about 15-20 %.
The drop now is closer to 70-80% and it fluctuates.
Other than having every device run off ethernet (not possible with heating and mac air) am I resigned to the fact /i have to 'put up' with this performance?
What else is there to try please?
We have had several new routers sent out to no avail.
BT even said I wouldn't be able to get anymore than 80mb download on my new iPhone. I pop next door and my neighbours BT fibre and i can get 150mb!
It's really odd and I would like to resolve it and get close to an acceptable WIFI speed of which I feel at least 300 would be achievable in the same room.
This may help from a previous forum post https://community.bt.com/t5/Home-setup-Wi-Fi-network/Re-full-fibre-100-issue/m-p/2298837#M202938
