Inconsistent broadband speeds

I'm hoping the community can help.

I've had inconsistent speed from my broadband since around March, before that the speeds were pretty consistent for 5 months or so before that.

I've dropped from around 20mb to sometimes less than 1mb. This can be for a few minutes but generally it's a few hours but it has dropped speeds.for three days.

I've had 4 engineering visits, first no fault, second replaced master socket, third advised to replace router (which is done) fourth replaced terminals? at cabinet but then no fault found.

I have carried out speed tests over WiFi but today I connected my laptop via Ethernet cable and speeds were just as slow (1mb). After about 10mins I did a BT app speed test which still stated 4mb to hub way below my speed guarantee.

Bt support had suggested it was a wireless device so I disconnected all but speed test from 2 devices showed same low speeds. 

Nothing has changed at my property, same wireless devices from before March when I didn't have an issue.

I've changed the router to mode 2 but speed still drops at hub.

Any help / support appreciated

Welcome to this user forum for BT Retail phone and broadband customers.

Are you sure you are on an ADSL connection, as 20Mbs seems too fast, unless you live next door to the exchange?

What BT package are you on, as it seems more likely you are on fibre 1?

Apologies it is fibre I believe VDSL.

 currently speeds are normal but they've been slow since around 4 until 9pm

From dslchecker you have a connection speed of 27/2.5mb which is top end of your estimated speed.  Are you able to post stats from your hu  advanced setting then technical log information

Is it your download speed that is dropping especially at peak time? Is download ok off peak?  If so it sounds like congestion on your exchange

Would you like information or event log?
Tbf both upload and download speeds go slow. At 10.57am download 1.13mb and upload was 0.28mb

 

Also my neighbours, all with BT are unaffected by these speed dips.

Hi @Skyecroft welcome to the community and thanks for posting. Were those technical logs taken when you were experiencing the slow speed issue? The data rate indicates you're getting 27.89Mbps.
