Hello i seem to have suffered with internet Rein for a while, comes and goes as in bad and good, good being it goes off once every few days bad meaning it goes off alot of times in one day, i am already getting master socket moved out the way of the plugs/things i think may be causing the issue, can Rein travel big distences or no? just as it doesn't affect anyone in my area just in my house hold
Solved! Go to Solution.
REIN can be quite difficult to pin down, it could eminate from your house, a street light or one of your neighbours.
I doubt moving the Master socket will resolve it. There was a whole village in Wales that suffered due to one resident switching on an old CRT television although that was SHINE.

yeah i've seen this story, the issue is they haven't said it is definely REIN, but there is nothing wrong on there end after 40 plus visits from enginers, internet can say on for 13 days fine, just then can go back to going off loads of times a day it's strange the thing that fixed it was when i moved my tv and all stuff to the otherside of the room and the internet stayed on for ages, i can only thing it's the plug sockets that also may be an issue as router fully resests
It could be anything you've mentioned but as you said moving the TV and other equipment solved it then one can conclude that that was the issue.
it's slowly coming back now though i done that last year and it went away now it goes off everyday again, just such a strange issue, that's why i thought either rein or falty eletrics in the plugs
Hi @modonnell97,
Thank you for posting.
@pippincp has said REIN can be very hard to pin down. If you take a look at REIN and SHINE you can find a few more details about both.
How many disconnections are you see a day and do they follow a pattern, happen at the same time each day?
Thanks,
Paddy
Hello, and it used to go off crazy, like 200 times a day, at the minute its not at that level of going off as much here below is the times it has gone off over last two months
That isn't REIN causing that. REIN won't cause a reboot, that looks like a faulty hub.
hello, i get why you would think this, but i've had 10 hubs from BT all been the same its very strange
When you changed the hubs did you replace the power supply unit?
