Please let us know how you get on with the WiFi disc @barryconway51
Leanne 🙂
I have had to reboot the BT Hub on 26/9 and 30/9 so looks like the problem continues. Don't know where to go from here. However I have now plugged in a USB WiFi adapter/dongle in my laptop to see if that makes any difference. Thanks for now.
I have reported it as a fault again. This time with the help of a BT Guide we did a factory reset. However the situation is still the same - no resolution yet I'm afraid. Even get internet disconnection when I am out!
Hi there @barryconway51
I'm sorry this has happened again and the factory reset has not resolved the connection dropping. To see what is needed next, I would advise getting back in touch with our broadband tech team and they will let you know the next steps 🙂
Please let me know how you get on.
Leanne.
Hi Leanne_T
After reporting that the problem is still ongoing, BT sent a Home Expert here today. As we have already eliminated everything in my home set up, he changed the ethernet cable between the ONT and the hub, Everything working ok when he left. Will have to wait to see progress.
Regards
Thanks for keeping us updated @barryconway51.
I hope that is all sorted for you now, but please keep us posted if anything changes again.
Michael
I am still getting the same problem - internet disconnections every few days - needing to reset hub. BT expert has been here, changed ethernet cable ONT to hub and was happy with my home set up and suggested if the problem continues it may be in the Openreach network. I have tried ethernet cable to Sky box so not a WiFi fault. However my laptop was in for repair for over a week (battery not charging) and the internet did not disconnect during that period. I cannot understand how my laptop could cause all devices to be affected though. Thanks for any suggestions on what to do next.
