Hi.
Recently, due to the snow in Wales it caused our Internet to drop out repeatedly over the week, and as the weather has eased off, our connection has been very stable, and if possible, could I have my line reset? Currently paying for 50mbps down, 10mbps up.
Stats:
Line Status: Conmnected
DSL Up Time: 1 days 4 hours 13 minutes
Downstream: 39.999mbps
Upstream: 9.998mbps
Downstream SNR Margin (dB): 11
Upstream SNR Margin (dB): 11
Downstream Line Attenuation (dB): 14.8
Upstream Line Attenuation (dB): 3.8
Provided your connection now remains stable DLM should relent and increase your speed again. A line reset cannot be performed by the ISP as with ADSL.
As Pippin said ISP’s can’t do DLM Resets as the Hardware, aka DSLAMS are owned/maintained by Openreach and not BT Wholesale.
There was a trial a while ago where ISP’s could request a DLM Reset without the need for an Openreach Engineers visit but I think that died a death some time ago.
