Loss of FFTP for 10 days [probably for a BT person to respond]

Dear Sirs,

As you know from your records, my FTTP installation did not go well.

As a result I was without broadband for 10 days from 11-20 Ap-23, this included my telephone as I chose to have VOIP phones.

After 3 visit appointments (2 not attended), and an eventual actual visit, I was re-connected.

After a bit of research in the silent period since then, I've decided what you could do to make my installation work better for me.

I have my old router lying dormant, and I would like to be able to connect it to my BT router using the WiFi (I have one item which will only work on the old router, the BT router rejects it for some reason).

I have found that it can be done, but I do not (quite) have the technical know-how to do it myself.

It seems to involve the DHCP system and suitable WiFi channel choices.

So, you(BT) might like to send someone around who is expert in this area and fix it up, whilst explaining to me how it is done, might even buy them a pint 🙂

I guess BT would normally just give money compensation, but that would be of less use in this instance, and be a much poorer advert for BT's undoubted technical expertise.

I prefer email in a day or two, once you have decided on a response, Regards, Ed

PS - I prefer email / non-immediate messaging for personal reasons, so don't ask 🙂 I am here as I could not find an email address for BT (apart from the investors department, which was not quite where I wanted to be), if there is one, would you point me in the right direction please ? Regards, Ed

@Ed_

This is just a customer to customer help forum, everyone here, including myself, are just customers.

The only BT Employees are the forum moderators.

Please edit out your account number, address details and e-mail address, as this is a PUBLIC forum.

If its not edited by 12:14, I will remove your post from public view and you will need to post again, without any personal details.

Thanks

Thanks Keith,  been a bit under the weather since then.

Looks like I'll have to use Investor Relations contact as I am an investor as well 🙂

I thought I'd give this route a shot.  Noticed you (or someone) has removed details as requested, many thanks to them, never sure what rules apply where, just too many groups / forums, etc  😕

Regards,  Ed

Hi @Ed_, sorry you've not been well. Compensation should be automatically applied 30 days after the fault was fixed. Automatic Compensation | BT Help So this should appear in the next few days.
In relation to your broadband service is it now working ok? I'm not sure what you are seeking to do but we would not provide support for 2 hubs to be used on the same broadband connection.
Cheers

John
