Let’s say there is an interference, is there a way i can see what is causing it? If so what would be the best way to do this?
If it is fine with a cable connection, then that rules the throttling explanation out.
Bottom line is that BT are only responsible for the connection up to the router. If it is a Wi-Fi connection beyond that then they will not be interested, as Wi-Fi is user’s responsibility.
Have you tried using a different channel?
I haven’t tried a different channel, no. How would i go about doing this?
If your Ethernet connection is OK then it is obviously not a BT connection problem.
If it is interference that is causing it, the first thing to do would be to try a different Powerline adapter. If that does not help you will need to find what electrical devices that are only used in the morning and eliminate them one at a time to see if you can identify the device that is causing the problem.
If you can not locate the problem by doing that it could be an out side source that is causing the problem.
To be honest, the only things connected to the internet is 3 sky boxes, 5 iphones, an xbox, a pc, my ps5 and a ring doorbell. All of these things are connected to the internet pretty much 24/7 to be honest.
When referring to Interference is not regarding the devices that are connected to the Internet, it is any electrical devices in the house that are on during the time of your problem that could be causing electrical interference that affects your wifi and or powerline adapters.
What would be the best way to figure this out then? Turn everything off in the house then one by one test and see what happens?
Yes. This includes things like fridges, heating boiler etc.
I think i’ve actually figured it out. I unplugged an extension lead in our back room which has a tv and sky box plugged into it, and i stopped lagging.. The only issue is this is used ALOT, so it has to be plugged in. Could this be an issue with the plug socket or the extension lead or something?
If the lag stops when you disconnect the extension lead it could be any of the three things. The lead, the TV, the Sky box.
Now do a process of elimination with them. Try plugging the lead into a different socket. If that doesn't help try another lead, if it is still there try disconnecting the Sky box and if it is still there plug the box back in and disconnect the TV.
