As the subject suggests our internet has been in the absolute gutter since about 2 weeks ago and I'd like an outside opinion on if it is likely to be the lines, obviously not gonna get much of a result until having them physically looked at, but I'd like a form of confidence..
We've already had an engineer to check out our hardware and has noticed that for some reason out internet isn't giving out the full speed that we've had before, specifically upload I talk of.. Being in the realms of on average being 6.5-6.9~ mbps but since it's been CONSISTENTLY, *Note not even fluctuating even a little bit which I've seen before* from 4.996mbps and the same goes for download, not moving from 32.399mbps
Even going as far as even had our router replaced to find that these data rates have NOT nudged from 4.996/32.399 and I'm ever so curious if anyone has ever had an experience similar to this before.. It's from Monday I'll be having this looked at but to say the least haven't much confidence
- Thanks
Solved! Go to Solution.
Your line has been banded by DLM due to instability, you need an engineer to investigate the line fault.
are you able to check for line noise with landline phone by dialling 17070 option 2 this does not work if you have digital voice
have you tried using test socket with filter to see if that helps
That's part the issue, we've opted to not have a landline so that's not even possible to do
if you have a new master socket then check that the front of socket is securely fitted as they are known to come unseated and cause connection problems
Hi @Joshikai and welcome back.
It's been a while but good to see you again. The advice you've been given on this thread is correct. The symptoms you're describing will need an engineer visit to resolve as it looks like there's a fault on the line. If you don't get anywhere with the tech guys let me know and I'll be happy to lend a hand.
Cheers
David
Update: We've got engineers looking into it this Wednesday between 8am to 1pm so we'll see what comes with them looking into the cabinet and a check of our lines, hopefully this resolves our issues
Final update: Engineer's been and everything is all running smoothly again we've got our speeds back to what they are normally, apparently the instability was because the lines between the cabinet and our house had been damp in some capacity, happy customers!, thank you all for the need to know~
