Does your SH2 have ethernet socket 4 marked as A WAN/LAN socket or do you see an FTTP switch in settings?  If so you don't need a new SH2.if not then you will get new SH2

You will keep the same Smarthub 2. BT will send you an Ethernet cable to connect the hub to the ONT which will be installed by the engineer who will arrive on your install date.

You can change the Smarthub 2 to be FTTP ready now if you want although there is no need to do if you don't want to. It will be done on the day of install by the engineer.

If you do want to change it you need to  log onto the Smarthub's management page and turning the port on as a WAN port.

Your hub will continue to use the VDSL connection until the FTTP install is completed when the cable from your master socket is removed and your connection is through FTTP.

If you do decide change the hub to be FTTP ready you will not be able to use Port 4 on the hub as an Ethernet port so if you have anything plugged into that port you will need to move it to another port on the hub.

Thanks, the ethernet cable has arrived together with a purple note from BT informing me that the existing SH2 is ok for FTTP
