Hi
I have Full Fibre 900 with BT and it works fine. Currently the fibre cable runs from a small grey box by outside by the front door through a wall, through our integral garage and into the room next door where it plugs into the modem. We are having our garage converted so will be moving the modem & router into the new conversion thus needing a shorter fibre cable and will just need to alter the where it comes through the wall from the outside. Do I contact BT to book an engineer visit or is it Openreach?
I tried speaking to someone from BT/ EE (The only way I could speak to a person was to go through to Upgrades but the person didn't seem very sure) and they told me to ring Openreach and gave me the 0800 023 2023 number but this appears to be for reporting damage / objections to poles etc.
How do I book a visit and how?
Thanks
Your provider be that BT or EE should be able to organise a ONT relocation for you
You could try following this path & see what they say:
As stated , although Openreach will do the work , you don’t arrange it with them directly ( you can’t ) , you contact your ISP and they arrange it , for one thing , Openreach can’t bill you directly, so they bill BT or EE ( or whoever the ISP is ) and the ISP bill you , OR charge the ISP around £100+ vat for this work , it’s an internal ONT shift , but isn’t a common thing to ask for , hopefully the ‘guide’ will understand what you need and raise the appropriate order .
