Originally an Openreach Contractor visited 3 weeks ago today but was unable to complete my install, because my pole can't be climbed and they needed a hoist.
so last week on Monday they site visited my neighbours property and then the next day the did the pole to the house install and then two days later they did the internal install.
my engineer again from Openreach Contractor called at 8.15 this morning only to check his previous colleagues work and to tell me that he needed a hoist to do the install and that he had to book that for later today, thats if its available.
Could he not read the notes that the previous engineer had left stating that they needed a hoist and could that not have been booked in advance.
so how many visits does it take for BT Openreach to install fibre and when should I cancel and forget it, I know there is no point moving from BT as whoever I go with will be Openreach doing the install and that appears for me to be th weak link in the fibre install.
That contractor (and Openreach engineers) only recieve their jobs for the day when they log in for work.
The engineer did check the note and obviously found the need for a hoist and informed you. I presume he also ordered one. I hope he gets back to you with a time estimate.
You could try ringing him back to find out.
thanks for your reply, I did call but the engineer didn't answer and didn't call back after I left a message, about 2 hours later they cancelled my install for today.
I called the order helpline and insisted that I didn't want to rebook if all they were going to do was send another engineer another day only for the same to happen again.
they got Openreach to log the job with the Hoist team so it is on their to do list now for Friday.
At least you now have a result.
Fingers crossed. Thanks
Hi @stevensmith2003,
I am sorry for the delays with this. I hope everything goes ok for you on the 26th.
If you need us to follow up with you after the visit, please let me know.
Thanks
