Re: Can we stay with BT Mobile and not be moved to EE?

@ACBHammersmith I got the impression from a previous post that you’ve already moved to a new provider. Have you tried getting them to contact BT on your behalf?

@ACBHammersmith

if you followed the OFCOM guidelines and just placed order with new ISP then your new ISP should notify BT they are taking over and you would normally receive email from BT 'sorry you are leaving'

If you actually notified BT your were leaving that normally complicates things

"Think it's really bizarre that in this day and age people need a "TV provider "

Yes, so do I.
You can get Freeview and Freesat completely free of charge (the clues are in the names) using an old fashioned aerial or satellite dish respectively.
And now with "Freely" you can get the same large selection of channels free over broadband - again the clue's in the name.
So, unless you want to watch some specialist stuff, or must have access to Netflix etc, why pay for another subscription on top of the BBC licence fee that you have to pay as soon as you own a TV with a tuner?

I left for mobile SIMs but not for broadband. They just sent me a new offer, keep my current broadband package for £68 pcm. As I'm getting 3x the speed from the local fibre company for £25 pcm that's not a particularly attractive offer.

I wasn't aware of that. As BT claimed they were unable to cancel my contract because there was an open order on it I was concerned they would keep billing me. The open order was an order for "digital voice" placed not by me but "proactively" by Openreach who were dismissed as "cowboys" by the BT call centre operative I spoke to.

I jumped ship from BT mobile a number of  months ago and got a good deal with TalkMobile (which is owned by Vodafone and uses it's network. Their roaming changes seemed fair ************

I was finding BT mobile becoming extremely unreliable even with just the basic making and receiving of calls.
