Is this a scam or real

Hi ( BT Landline: ), it's BT here.

Book a free engineer appointment by texting:

"NEXT" for the very next available appointment in your area
"MORE" to receive two appointment slots to choose from.

Hi ( BT Landline: ), it's BT here.

We have noticed that your broadband is not performing as well as it should be, so you might experience problems browsing online or watching TV services.

Don't worry, our expert engineers are on hand to help and you won't be charged anything for a visit.

You will receive a text from 61998 shortly, just reply to book a time/date that suits you and we will have your service fully restored in no time.

For peace of mind that it is BT contacting you, you can find information on this number @ bt.com/cust-txt-help

You can also see the status of the case at www.bt.com/faults or in the BT App using the reference **Edited**

has anyone else had this is it real or a scam.

It's a real process yes, BT will run line tests and if they think something is wrong they'll get in touch, the texts can easily be spoofed though, if you're concerned you can call up or just don't reveal any info.

Legit texts will simply book an engineer and track fault progress, from my last fault I just confirmed using 'Next', 'More' and 'Agent', no personal data was asked to be confirmed, It was a really simple process.
