Today and a couple of other times in the past I have received a phone call from Luke,he said he said he was from BT and said it was regarding our BT line on his system. It said it was still active then wanted to know what phones we used. I said we are fully Wi-Fi and we didn’t have a landline and question whether he was actually from BT.
I asked to speak to his supervisor whose name was Shane Buxson, he said they that BT wouldn’t know about them and said they were from the infrastructure of the lines.
This sounded rather suspicious to me and said to him it doesn’t make sense. Why are you saying you are from BT then?
Shane put the phone down I’ve made a note of their phone number which is 014822993803 if anyone could confirm that this is actually true, I would love to know I have previously rang BT and questioned it and they didn’t know anything about it. Any answers would be grateful. Thank you.
Sounds like the sort of phone call to just hang up on.
Also that number you posted is too long.
Its a spam call. BT never call you about those things.
FWIW , 01482 is the STD code for Hull , and is unique in that the incumbent operator isn’t Openreach or BT , so it’s unlikely any BT employees would be calling from Hull , unless someone working from home , in which case they would be mad to make outgoing calls displaying their private CLI , as stated chalk it down as a ‘spam’ call .
Thank you all for the advice and information, greatly appreciated
