Account manager set up

My father, who owned and managed my parent's BT account, recently died and ownership of the account has now passed to my mother, all sorted by BT's bereavement department. She would now like me to help her manage the account. We both have BT accounts and we have tried to set me up as an account manager for hers, but it does not seem to have any effect.

We've tried inviting me from her account, using the "invite new account manager" option under account sharing in My BT. I receive the email, log in to my account to accept and enter the pass code she set up. Everything appears to have worked, but nothing changes.

We've also tried requesting it from my account, using the "I want to be an account manager" option under Multiple accounts / Add an account. She gets an email and can log in to her account where there is an approval link to click. Again, it all appears to have worked but nothing changes.

Following any attempt to do this either way, both our accounts still show "Currently this account has no users or managers." under Account sharing, and simply "Is there an account missing?" under Multiple accounts. We've waited a few hours (it has now been days) each time. Nothing shows as pending or failed anywhere and there is no evidence that anything has happened.

Am I missing something? Is there another way for me to access my mother's account through mine once this has been done? Are we doing something wrong, or does this process simply not work?

Re: Account manager set up

Why bother, account manager has even less functionality than the already limited functionality of account holder. I'm sure she won't mind you using her account holder credentials.

Re: Account manager set up

The problem being when I log in using her credentials I need access to her mobile phone for the TFA code.  It would just be easier to access it through my account.

Also, when phoning them, I need to be authorised to talk to them on her behalf.  They sometimes need her to give them the go ahead before they will deal with me.

Re: Account manager set up

If you have followed the procedure as per the following link and it is not working you will need to call BT Billing 0330.1234.150.

I was assuming she wouldn't be accessing the account herself and you could therefore use your mobile number for the 2FA

As far as I'm aware, that will still be the case even as account manager.
