BT Reward Card, failed activation

I received a BT Reward Card when I signed up to BT a few months ago. I tried to activate it today on bt.purecard.com, received an activation code, but then got 'Card activation failed. Please contact Customer Services if you require assistance.' Any ideas?

You have three months to activate your card from the time your product or service goes live. If you don't, you'll lose any money that's on the card.

Oh no! I had no idea — why couldn’t they put a sticker on the card, like card issuers normally do, reminding the user to activate? There’s literally nothing on the card about this. The expiry date is 10/22 — I thought I had till then!

The expiry date would have been 12 months after you received it, so it must have been last October when you received it, so needed to be activated then.
