Bt Essentials

Good afternoon, i need some assistance . I have the Bt Essentials no income broadband and calls package which costs £15. I want to downgrade to the phone/landline/calls only plan which costs £10.

I have spent hours on the phone and not been able to get this resolved. Can anyone help?

It would be very much appreciated.

Kindest regards

Re: Bt Essentials

are you on BT digital voice?

can you enter your phone number and post results including notes as you may be in a priority area for fibre broadband and need to move to digital voice

Re: Bt Essentials

Hi, thank you for your response. Yes, i already have digital voice. BT accidently terminated my services a few years ago and won't reinstate the phone line and stated I had to have the digital voice for a landline.

Not sure why its such a difficult process.

Any other suggestions would be very much appreciated!

Re: Bt Essentials

the problem is digital voice needs an internet connection as VOIP and if you have been on DV then old style copper phone line is not available now

Re: Bt Essentials

Hi, thank you for your response. What if I have an internet connection, just not with BT? The broadband has been terrible and it barely functions. Gone through troubleshooting, speed checking, unplugging everything etc. Its just the the speeds aren't enough for our usage. The prices bt are quoting are no affordable for me so i can't upgrade with them.

The broadband I'm moving to is going to be paid for by my son. I just want the phone line with calls which they advertise at £10 per month as the Bt Essentials phone line only. I have to phone the hospital/doctors regularly and can be on hold for an hour at a time. I've seen other people on these forums who are on the package. They have run the checks and I am entitled and meet the criteria. They just can't seem to move forward and change my package.

Any othet suggestions/ advice would be very much appreciated.

Re: Bt Essentials

I don't think you can have broadband from one ISP and have DV phone from BT  does you new broadband provider not have a phone option

Re: Bt Essentials

Hi, yes they do but its more expensive. Plus, if I qualify for a certain package offered by bt, who I've been with for years, why can't i change my package? I don't understand?
