Charges appear to be higher

Go to solution

HI, I am puzzled, as the amount i pay a month currently has a good discount on broadband,  but the one off renewal line rental states my monthly cost for the broadnbaad as higher.......why, and if i renew my line retal will it automatically set me up to a longer length of broadband contract?

If you are referring to Line Rental Saver discount (the one where you pay £219.84) , if so it will not have any bearing on the length or timing of your Broadband Contract.

on my bills it has: Broadband Package £8.46 Your regular charges 10 Feb - 09 Mar Broadband Package: £30.47/month £4.48 Includes discount of £19.99/month for Line Rental Saver (ending 09 Mar 2023) Includes discount of £6.00/month for Special offer discount
And on the line renewal it has: one off charge £219.84
and Monthly cost including any offers £24.50, which is a lot more?

The way that reads to me , you are charged £30.47 for service, because you paid around £220 upfront           ( called LRS for historical reasons ) that results in £19.99 discount off the monthly fee , so £30.47-£19.99= £10.48, you also get £6 discount ( for some reason ) so you pay £4.48.
If the renewal offer is £24.50 , that’s probably assuming you won’t be paying LRS of £219.84 , but if you do LRS again , by paying the lump sum upfront, that probably becomes £24.50-£19.99 discount, so you would pay £4.51 or 3p more per month.

If you don’t pay the one off £219.84 , then it’s £24.50 , but obviously the LRS money is in your bank , not BT’s ,

Are  you going to pay the LRS upfront payment of £219.84 but not actually paid it yet ?
