Delete BT ID

Hi I have by broadband due to be installed but they have advised me to delete my bt id and make a new one as there is an old account on there. How did I do this?

although you could have used your "old" BTID and have the old account removed from it once everything is set up.

The reason I was told to delete the old one is because there was an account from an ex on there and they told me that if I deleted my old one where it was still linked and make a new one it would have just my details on there but I’m not sure how I delete it

You can not delete it. Customer Services can.

Oh right .. thank you.. 

 I was on the phone to a customer service agent for 45 minutes earlier and many conversations back and forth with him and his manager the manager was the one who told me to go online and delete it and create another one..
