Hi all!
I live in a flat (Ground floor) In Ipswich (rent off mum) & currently have BT TV & broadband! (24 month contract has ended & gone up in price)
My area can Get FTTP Via Openreach & City Fibre! The flats & houses next to the road have it! (same post code) But in my section of flats private land (car park outside) can’t have it & don’t Have permission! From management agency!
when my mum emailed the management agency in June/July time all we got told was we know about FTTP in area & working on it!
What does my mum have to do for them to allow me to Have FTTP? Or can they refuse it!
I don’t want to be waiting another year or 2 I need FTTP ASAP
my contract is up & I want to get a good FTTP Deal!
Can’t really tell from your post if the Managing Agent have refused to allow FTTP to be built in the block of flats or if they’re trying to get it installed.
Have Openreach wanted to and or tried to build FTTP in there but been stopped by the MA?
As far as I am aware Openreach (have no plans to install FTTP at the moment according to website) but have Tried to contact Management Agency & City Fibre have tried to contact Management agency but don’t have permission yet!
have no clue if it was refused etc if & when I will be allowed to have it!
but if it was how can I get FTTP in my flat?
Do I have any rights?
Thank you I have looked at it! & they are within their rights to refuse FTTP broadband,
but as I say a section of flats can see from my Kitchen window have FTTP so I know it’s coming just wanna find out when
If on private land and as this is a mdu then a wayleave agreement between the network provider (be that Openreach or an Alt net like CityFibre) and the land owner is needed.
Technically the network provider could gain permission via the courts but this is a last resort and may have financial implications.
If you and others in the MDU complain to the land owner of the property you live in , this may help stress to the owner of the benefits and importance of a future proof full fibre network.
The link @iniltous has posted also has some good advice when the land owner rejects permission and about checking your lease/leasehold agreement and getting professional and legal advice.
Thank you but as I say all Houses, apartments & flats next to road are connected to openreach & city fibre!
All flats on private land e.g block of flats next to carpark etc are not connected! Hopefully soon
when we asked in June/July time we didn’t get a no! Just it will be available at some point we are working on it!
Afraid all you can do is to get the management company who owns or is acting on behalf of the land owner to liaise with the network infrastructure provider such as Openreach.
For Openreach you can get your management company to fill out the expression of interest form at https://www.openreach.com/broadband-for-landlords
However, if the management company say they are working on it then there may already be a discussion going on between them and the network infrastructure provider and all you can do is to constantly ask for updates from your management company on the matter
Thank you!
All I want from them is a time frame for example 2-3 months so I can plan who I go with etc!
so gonna get mum to ask how long till I can have FTTP
Update management agency not replied to email yet
I wanna cry 😠as their is about 103GB black ops 6 (PS5) update tomz gonna take me forever to download it 🥲
mum going chase management agency up
