Fibre 1 Installation.

Go to solution

Hi

My daughter is in the process of ordering broadband for a rental flat and according to the wholesale checker the only options available where the flat is are VDSL-FTTC products.  She went through the order process, selected Fibre 1 and it said she would have to have an installation date.   The flat already has a BT box with a unfiltered and filtered outputs and she is told that the previous occupant had broadband.  I'd of thought that it was just a matter of sending her the Smarthub and turning on the service.  Can anyone tell me what the 'installation' process involves?  I'm concerned that if they are going to do anything at the property she'll have to get permission from the landlord.  Any info appreciated.  Andy

@AndyGee

An appointment is built on the Openreach workflow database, just in case a visit is needed. Normally the work would be done at the cabinet, and unless a line test indicates an issue, then no work is needed in the flat.

BT would simply send a BT Smart Hub 2 in the post.

If activation fails, then Openreach can sort it out, normally within 48 hours.
