Frustrated! Return of equipment

I am at my wit's end! Need to know if others have experienced this.

I posted back the equipment to BT in February - TV box and router.

Got a text message a few weeks later to say they hadn't received. Called up and gave post office details and they confirmed and sent me a text message to say kit received.

They a few weeks later I got more text messages saying they haven't received the kit and have issued me a bill for £130.

Each time I call it's about 30 to 40 mins and they now say until the warehouse say they received it they will keep sending me letters demanding the money. All very stressful. I can find the original post office receipt but have the text confirm from BT. They said they won't recognise that.
